This award is made under the high performance connections portion of NCRI's "Connections to the Internet" announcement, NSF 96-64. It provides partial support for two years for a DS-3 connection to an the vBNS. Applications include computational nuclear physics, retrospective image registration, electronic theses and dissertations, ultimate nature of matter and the formation of the Universe, DNA research, remote microscopy, elementary particle physics, and several electrical engineering and computer engineering projects. Collaborating institutions include Fermilab, Brookhaven National Lab, Boeing, JPL, University of Washington, Oak Ridge National Lab, and Northwestern University.
