This award is made under the high performance connections portion of ANIR's "Connections to the Internet" announcement, NSF 96-64. It provides partial support for two years for an OC-3 connection to the vBNS. Applications include projects in content based image retrieval, computer aided design and simulation, crystallography, high energy physics, computational fluid dynamics, statistical modeling of adsorption and networking research. Collaborating institutions include the University of California at San Diego, National Center for Supercomputing Applications, CEBAF, the Supercomputer Computations Research Institute at Florida State University, the National Energy researhc Supercomputer Center at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory and Pennsylvania State University.
