The aim of the project is to conduct a series of modeling experiments using the NCAR CCSM3 model (with ocean, sea ice, and vegetation modules) to further investigate the Early Anthropogenic Hypothesis (EAH). This hypothesis has captured the attention of the scientific community because it argues that humans began altering the Earths climate long before the industrial period so much so that early anthropogenic activities supplanted a natural climatic cooling trend with a warming trend. The research is transformational in nature because it provides for a potential paradigm shift in evaluating and understanding the interplay of humans and climate.
