This project will develop a Monte Carlo model for predicting the effects of large magnetic storms on commercial satellite systems. It will derive the model from past data on the various types of satellite upsets and associate those events with the conditions in the magnetosphere. The ultimate goal of the project is to make it possible to develop a model for the economic impacts of space weather on commercial satellite systems.
