This award provides funds for graduate-student travel stipends to the 10th International Congress on Combustion By-Products - Origin, Control and Health Effects, a biennial international conference on research into the formation, mitigation, and adverse health effects of products of combustion. The conference will be held June 17-20, 2007, in Ischia, Italy. This is the tenth conference, and approximately 120 researchers are expected to participate. The NSF Combustion and Plasma Systems program has provided support for three previous gatherings of this conference (Arizona in 2005, Sweden in 2003, and North Carolina in 2001). Travel expenses were provided for ten students in 2005, four students in 2003, and eight students in 2001.
