The Division of Chemistry and the Enginnering GOALI Program will support the collaborative GOALI research program of Prof. Paul Gemperline of East Carolina University, Prof. Frank Chambers of Oklahoma State University and Prof. Liguo Song of the University of Tennessee. The team of investigators will collaborate with Dupont researchers to develop a new method for the analysis of slurries under flow conditions. The research will combine sampling, optical and mass spectrometric detection and chemometric data analysis techniques to monitor the quality of these challenging slurry samples. The study will provide a new methodology for the analysis of complex samples under industrial conditions. It will also provide an excellent training opportunity to undergraduate and graduate students who will work together with academic and industrial researchers to solve a pressing and challenging analysis problem.
