The symposium, to be held October 14-18, 1985, will be an activity held under the Protocol in Surface Water Hydrology, which is an adjunct of the U.S.-PRC Science and Technology Agreement. The topics to be addressed at the symposium include the detection of historical floods and the uncertainties of their peak discharges and times of occurrence, frequency analysis of annual flood peaks, the use of storm data in determining design storms and design floods, and comparative core studies of the U.S. and PRC flood analyses.
