This award provides renewed support for the Commitee on Earthquake Engineering at the National Academy of Sciences. The Committee is involved in several important activities including: (l) assessing the needed research in the field, (2) assessing current earthquake engineering practices relative to existing knowledge and recommending needed actions for improved practice, and (3) recommending needed actions for improved utilization of earthquake engineering knowledge, including education and training activities.
