The main objective of this workshop is to bring together researchers, engineers, and managers in the apparel manufacturing industry to discuss and summarize research issues related to the improvement of apparel manufacturing operations. Major topic areas include human factors engineering, production planning and control, total quality management, productivity improvement and related issues in manufacturing systems. Expected outcomes include a conference proceedings and the eventual development of an apparel manufacturing research and technology transfer center. The activity involves significant industrial collaboration.
