This award supports travel expenses for student participation in the ACM Multimedia 2006 conference, Santa Barbara, CA, October 22-27, 2006. The major challenge across all multimedia areas is the real-time aspect of multimedia data when audio, video and other multimedia data (e.g., haptic information) are acquired, processed, encoded, transmitted over different types of networks, or displayed. This award enables students who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend, to participate in this key conference on multimedia research.
