This award, supported by the NITRD High Confidence Software and Systems (NITRD/HCSS) agencies, enables a National workshop on Stimulating and Sustaining Excitement and Discovery in K-12 Education." The workshop is hosted by the William and Ida Friday Institute for Innovational Education, on the North Carolina State University Centennial Campus in Raleigh, NC, August 1-2, 2007. The aims of the workshop are to examine new uses of networking and information technology, and to explore new cooperative roles for industry and government, in advancing STEM education. The workshop brings together representatives of government and industry, educators and researchers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subject matter areas, and experts in STEM education.
