The Consortium for International Earth Science Information Network, in cooperation with Peking Universtiy, is sponsoring a symposium entitled "Global Information Infrastructure: Implications for Science and Sustainable Development" which will take place at the XVIII Pacific Science Congress in Beijing, China, 5-12 June 1995. This award will enable an expert from the U.S. to present in this challenging venue in China an historical perspective on the development of the Internet in the U.S. The presentation will be the first in a special session discussing the Internet.
