The University of California @ Davis will initiate a six-week, residential Young Scholars project in the Biological and Environmental Sciences which will offer science enrichment activities for 40 precollege students entering grades 10 and 11. This summer program will emphasize research participation under the guidance of research mentors. Emphasis will be on understanding and conducting research and techniques for reporting outcomes. Issues dealing with the nature of scientific knowledge, ethics and relations to humans will be addressed.
