9452734 Webb Clark Atlanta University seeks to intimate a 6-week, residential and commuter, Young Scholars project in Interdisciplinary Science for 40 students in grades 8-12. The project focuses on science, engineering, and mathematics (SEM) course work and research in the laboratory with university scientists serving as mentors. Additional activities include career seminars, discussions on the philosophy and ethics of science, career counseling, and field trips. A major objective of the project is to increase the pool of high school graduates with an interest in and adequately prepared to pursue study leading to careers in SEM.
