9553511 Gipson Wayne State University seeks to provide a 4-week, summer commuter, Young Scholars project in mathematics for 40 hilgh potential and high ability female students entering grade 7. The participants will be from economically disadvantaged communities in the Detroit Metropolitan area. This innovative program will provide enriching research experiences through laboratory investigations in mathematics and physics with focus on research methodology, philosophy and ethics of science, and career exploration.
