Scholarships are being awarded to academically talented, financially needy students enrolled in the Wilkes Honor College and majoring in biology and chemistry. The scholarships are for varying amounts ranging from $2500 to $10,000 per year depending upon the financial need and the expected family contribution toward meeting the educational expenses. Undergraduate research is an integral component of the honors college program and is benefiting from the presence of Scripps Research Institute's facilities on the same campus. In addition, to the academic year research activities, some summer research assistantship opportunities are being made available to the scholarship holders.
