The "Web-Based Real-Time Software Engineering Lab" project is developing tools to support remote access to programmable devices for software deployment and evaluation.

Intellectual Merit: This project is enabling students to develop embedded systems software and test it on actual devices such as telescopes. They are developing both curriculum modules and the prototype software to support remote, real-time access by students to physical devices.

Broader Impact: The project is exploring how to make limited resources, in this case real-time hardware, available remotely to the greatest number of students. They are developing and assessing software and curriculum materials which can be adopted and adapted by similar institutions. The PIs are disseminating their results through presentations at both regional and national conferences.
