This STEP project addresses both local and national initiatives aimed at increasing the number of students entering and graduating from programs in engineering. The major strategies incorporated in the STEP program plan of activities are: a Residential Summer Bridge Program; Peer Mentoring Initiatives, Living- Learning Community. Also, this STEP project incorporates an enhanced recruitment plan, particularly designed to increase enrollment of women and under-represented minority students. Additionally, this STEP project includes close partnerships with local high schools and technical colleges.
