This project supports The Building Science, Engineering and Technology Leadership Workshop. The workshop integrates current practices in career development and mentoring to aid professional women in technology and engineering in academe, industry, and government sectors to advance themselves within their organizations. The workshop brings key strengths by combining several key elements. The conference organizer is a Presidential Mentor in the field of Engineering and President of the Women in Engineering Society. A steering committee of senior level professionals with significant experience in policy setting and mentoring provide guidance to the in shaping the workshop. Professional women who have been well mentored are available to share their experiences to conference participants who are mid-level professional women in industry and government-related positions. The activity embodies a national level effort to provide professional mentoring resources to professional women and provides insight into current mentoring practices and the effects on women.
