Scholarships for Oregon Scientists (SOS) is providing educational opportunities for undergraduate students in chemistry and physics. In addition to supporting each scholarship recipient for up to four years, the SOS program is providing faculty mentoring and undergraduate research opportunities to students. The program's recruiting efforts are targeting rural high school students and urban community college students. The scholarship program is helping to increase the number of high-quality graduates trained in chemistry and physics.
