This funding supports the purchase of an automated traffic data collection system for use in the civil engineering department. This system allows students to become familiar with state-of-the-art traffic data collection techniques. This system provides computer assisted data collection, analysis and presentation techniques for traffic volume, speed, headway and classification data. This award is being matched by an equal amount from the principal investigator's institution.
