The PI has requested funds to help support travel costs of graduate student and one early career participants to the Tokyo Post Perovskite conference, being held in October, 2005. The program will revolve around recent discovery of the post-perovskite phase transition and the rapidly evolving developments in mineral physics, seismology and geodynamics as a result of this discovery. This international meeting will bring together scientists from various backgrounds, perspectives and disciplines. In particular, the program and this support will foster the participation of graduate students and young scientists. The meeting is being co-sponsored by the Japanese Center of Excellence in Tokyo.
