This award represents a transfer of funds from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in settlement for amounts owed to the USGS by the NSF supported Deep Observation and Sampling of the Earth's Continental Crust (DOSECC) consortium for the Cajon Pass drilling project, and for NSF support of the Kenya Rift Project.
