9526177 Wyllie It is expected that Peter Wyllie (currently Vice-President) will be elected President of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) in July 1995 for a 4-year term, 1995-99. IUGG is made up of seven International Associations which span the science of the solid and fluid Earth; hydrology, oceans and atmosphere; geophysics and geochemistry; magnetic fields; and also embraces studies of the Earth by artificial satellites. This grant provides support for the President's office, with 30% salary for a part-time secretary/assistant, plus funds for international travel to selected business and scientific meetings of the Association of the Union, and other bodies if the International Council of Scientific Unions, as required to promote the welfare and development of IUGG.
