With this proposal we respectfully request the NSF support for the 2005 IEEE Topical Conference on Wireless Communications Technology that will be held jointly with the Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES) Conference. The joint conference will be held during the period April 3-7, 2005, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel, in Honolulu, HI.
The objective of the joint conference is to provide a forum for discussing and presenting recent research results in two of the most enabling technologies in electrical and communication engineering. While the IEEE conference will focus on advances in the wireless communications technology, the ACES conference usually deals with advances in applied computational electromagnetics. In a way, the wireless technology provides very important application areas for the computational EM research. The complementary nature of the research areas in the two conferences will hence, provide mutual benefits for both collaborating organizations and their participants.
The requested NSF funds will be used to cover travel support for graduate students who will be presenting papers and portion of the grant will be used to cover travel expenses for an invited speakers who are experts in new and emerging technologies in the wireless and the computational EM areas.
