This award is for support of a planning visit by Dr. Sameeh A. Mansour of the National Research Center (NCR) in Cairo to the laboratory of Dr. Mohyee Eldefrawi of the University of Maryland at Baltimore. The purpose of the visit is to develop a collaborative research activity in the area of biosensors development for applications in environmental and medical diagnostics. The visitor is expected also to visit laboratories at other US institutions where work in this area is being done. This project is being supported under the US-Egypt Joint Fund Program, which provides grants to scientists and engineers in both countries to carry out these cooperative activities.
