The George Washington University and the University of Florida are proposing to become a multi-university Industry/University Cooperative Research Center for High-Performance Reconfigurable Computing. High-Performance computing has come to the forefront as a dominant field of technology for the advancement of science and commerce. A variety of industries as well as national labs and government agencies are focusing increasingly toward High-performance computing in addressing key challenges, be it in the lab for simulation and analysis of complex structures and process or mission-deployed as high performance embedded computing. The theme of this proposed center is the relatively new area of hardware-reconfigurable, high-performance computing.
