Research in theoretical elementary particle physics and cosmology will consider the possibility that there exist new particles beyond those already known which lead to new forces beyond those already known. Such new particles would have a variety of interesting consequences for astrophysics. Indeed, astrophysical observations will be used in this project to constrain the properties of the possible new particles. Many theories suggest the existence of new particles of the type to be studied in this work, and the effort will be an important attempt to see what can be learned about such particles from astrophysical data.
