ONR will provide services, support and consultation to the Office of Polar Programs (OPP), National Science Foundation (NSF), in the areas of: 1.) The preparation of state-of -the-art reports, conduct of reviews, assistance in arranging and conducting workshops, advice in program development, and participation in NSF, national and international meetings and collaborations in the areas of cyber infrastructure and long-term observation. 2.) Management of program areas at the direction of the Section Head, Arctic Sciences Section, OPP; 3.)Oversight functions on behalf of OPP for vendors, contractors and grantees.

Dr. Dennis Conlon of the Office of Naval Research will work full time on the above objectives for a period of two years (1 October2003 to 30 September 2004). He will work primarily in office spaces to be provide by OPP, and he will work under the general supervision of Dr. Thomas Pyle, Section Head, Arctic Sciences Section , OPP.

Travel undertaken during this work period will be arrange through the Office of Naval Research, which will be reimburse by OPP.
