This REU Site award to the University of Michigan's School of Information is dedicated to furthering undergraduate intellectual growth and preparing them for careers at the intersection of the social sciences and information technology in incentive-centered design for cyberinfrastructure. They will conduct research in some of the country's leading information laboratories. Performance of distributed and collaborative systems critically depends on interactions, yet such interactions are often ineffective and inefficient. this training will address these inefficiencies. Broader Impact: Partnerships with various organizations and with Wayne State will assist in recruitment of women, underrepresented minorities and students from institutions with limited research programs.
