During fiscal year 2009 we accomplished the following: 1. Completed protein and RNA analysis on 15 additional BLSA samples. CD4+ T cells were purified from peripheral blood mononuclear cells by positive selection and activated in vitro with anti-CD3 antibodies. Nuclear and cytoplasmic extracts were prepared for immunoblotting studies, and RNA prepared for microarray analyses. 2. Initiated analysis on samples from Elite-aging category. 3. Initiated proteomic studies on cytosolic and nuclear extracts to evaluate the best way to compare between BLSA samples.
