The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) publishes the monthly scientific journal Environmental Health Perspectives (EHP). EHP is a scientific journal whose primary purpose is to communicate recent scientific findings in the field of environmental health. As such its content is of highly technical nature. The journal is of interest to biologists, epidemiologists, chemists, molecular biologists, lexicologists, biochemists, toxicologists, and anyone involved in the investigation of environmental issues related to health. The journal also contains a significant news section written for an informed non-specialist audience. With a current impact factor of 5.64, EHP ranks first among 160 environmental sciences journals and second among 100 public, environmental, and occupational health journals. EHP is read in over 190 countries.In addition to printed materials, the information contained in each publication is made available for free (open access) on the internet at www.ehponline.org. Distribution is made monthly to paid subscribers to EHP plus others individually identified to receive hardcopy distribution free of charge.
