Collection of blood will be used to:1) Optimize new assays or lab techniques3) Calibrate new laboratory equipment 4) Train new members in current laboratory procedures5) Validate experiments performed by other members of the laboratory, other laboratories at National Jewish or laboratories at other institutions. Our laboratory currently has approved IRB protocols (HS-1455, HS-1917, HS-1962) to investigate the immune response of blood cells from normal subjects or patients with atopic dermatitis and asthma. Occasionally it is necessary to collect additional blood cells for pilot studies, training of new laboratory personnel, or calibration of new laboratory equipment.
