This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Spinal Cord cholinergic activity will be examined by use of the PET radioligand 18F-Fluorobenzyltrozamicol. This pilot study will evaluate ten men and ten women during high estrogen state and ten women during low estrogen state for lumbar spinal cord cholinergic activity at rest. Cholinergic activity will be quantified by 18F-FBT binding in the spinal cord. Healthy subjects will be recruited for this study.
