Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.The purpose of this study is to evaluate patients' ability to achieve weight loss goals in an enhanced weight treatment program which includes regular doctor visits along with nutritional evaluation, motivational counseling, weekly group sessions, weekly physical activity sessions with a youth leader, home visits and involving parents with family groups over a course of three years.
