The objective of this 5-year cost reimbursement contract is to provide the DIR with: recruitment, evaluation, computerized demographic information, medical and psychological screening, counseling, aftercare services and statistical support. The contractor will provide the DIR with all professional and technical services required to recruit, screen and fully evaluate potential research participants for acceptance into a research protocol by the Federal Scientists. The contractor will provide discharge planning and follow up for the research participants that may include referrals to other facilities or agencies. All compensation to the research participants will be distributed by the contractor. The schedule and amounts of payment are determined by the government. The Contractor will furnish all services, qualified personnel, labor, materials and supplies not otherwise provided by the Government under the terms of the contract as are necessary to provide the DIR with the support for the recruitment, evaluation, demographics, screening, intake, and aftercare of human participant volunteers. The contract will also provide statistical and data base support. These services will be provided primarily at the DIR, but there will be occasions where work may be required at other locations. Approximately 650 research participants per year will be involved in the DIR Clinical Research studies (excluding single session studies). If the research needs of the DIR continue to increase sos that additional participant populations are required contract options may be executed. Management and supervision of the contract personnel will be provided by the contractor and not the federal government.
