The objectives of this contract are the collection, validation and maintenance of data and of the front-end micro-processor system and the central host system. These data are collected as part of the Stroke and Traumatic Coma Data Banks of the Biometry and Field Studies Branch (BFSB) of the National Institute of Neurological and Communicative Disorders and Stroke (NINCDS), which are multi-center, prospective observational studies. The contractor is responsible for maintenance and modification of data transmission software, editing and administrative management programs, archival storage, documentation, and retrieval for analyses. The contractor must be familiar with Datapoint's Databus language and with the Statistical Analysis System (SAS). The contractor must also be familiar with the most current Datapoint equipment and will propose any hardware enhancements to the front-end system which would be cost effect. Collaboration with individuals at the clinical centers participating in each data bank is primary responsibility, including frequent direct communication, initial and ongoing staff training, assistance in diagnosing hardware or software problems, and assistance in analyses.
