The NIA issued a request in 2006 for a contract for the development of the NIH Toolbox for Assessment of Neurological and Behavioral Function on behalf of the NIH Blueprint for Neuroscience Research. The Neuroscience Blueprint is an intra-agency partnership to accelerate neuroscience research by increasing collaboration and information-sharing among 16 Institutes, Centers and Offices that conduct or support research on the brain and nervous system. The contract was awarded in 2006 to Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Research Institute.
