The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is to establish the policies governing resource allocation for, and scientific oversight of, Dr. Lawrence Tabak's research program during his tenure as the NIH Principal Deputy Director. In directing his independent research program, Dr. Tabak will serve as Chief of the Section on Biological Chemistry within the Office of the Scientific Director, Division of Intramural Research in the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR). The governing principle is that Dr. Tabak will have no control or influence in changing the assigned resources for his research program or the process for reviewing his research program during his tenure as the NIH Principal Deputy Director.
