This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Integral to the COBRE program are two core facilities, the Molecular Biology Core (MBF) and the Controlled Environment Core. Full time staff for these Core facilities is Ms. Jennifer Marshall and Mr. George Rosenberg. The renovation of the MBF and the Controlled Environment Core was completed January, 2005. New equipment purchased this fiscal year for the Facility includes an Eppendorf refrigerated tabletop centrifuge. During this reporting period, the COBRE affiliated investigators (mentees and mentors) accounted for nearly half (42%) of the use, which is substantial given that the Core is part of a pre-existing Department shared facility and is heavily used across the field of Biology.
