We envision that the Administrative Core will play an absolutely essential role in bringing together andpromoting active interactions among and between the individual members and scientific Cores; ensuring thatthe Cores have sufficient space, instrumentation, well trained staff, and are responsive to the biotechnologicalneeds of Center members; and that the overall Center maintains its focus and goes forward on the basis of awell thought out and planned strategy.Building on the strong, 24 year old foundation of the Keck Laboratory, we stand ready with thenecessary expertise, a truly extensive array of very expensive and technologically advanced instrumentation, and the organizational and administrative skills to push forward in a highly coordinated and collaborativefashion. Shaped by this 24 year old culture, we strive to offer the widest possible technologies at the highestquality level with the minimum possible cost remembering that the 'economies of scale' in the end will help theresearch to advance in the most productive way provided that the funding to build and expand on the existinginfrastructure continues to be available.
