This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The WFDB Software Package is one of the centerpieces of PhysioToolkit, and is revised frequently. It includes over 70 open-source applications for signal processing, analysis, and more, all built on a stable and easy-to-use subroutine library (the WFDB library) that can be incorporated into users' own software written in C, C++, or Fortran. Applications can use the WFDB library to read and write digitized signals and annotations in a wide variety of formats including those used in PhysioBank; with no code changes, they can read input from local files or directly from web servers such as PhysioNet. A comprehensive collection of documentation, including tutorials and reference manuals, is also included in the package. The WFDB Software Package has been ported successfully to a wide variety of platforms including all major platforms in current use.
