? The principal aim of this proposal is for Talisman to develop, implement and evaluate a computerized, integrated system for processing blood donors that incorporates a series of decision aids and decision algorithms. The system is expected to significantly reduce donor and staff errors and omissions, increase blood availability, improve staff efficiency and have substantial commercial appeal to blood centers and blood collecting hospitals. ? ? The secondary aim of the proposal is for Talisman to continue assessment of the effectiveness of its computer-assisted, audio-video donor health history self interviewing system, QDS, in reducing donor lying on sexual and other sensitive questions, increasing the frequency of donor returns, reducing staff errors and omissions, and increasing staff efficiency. ? ?
