Application Title: Enhancement of California's Integrated Food Safety and Security System Project title: Maintenance of California's Sample Collection Program The California Department of Health, Food and Drug Laboratory Branch (FDLB) is the State food testing laboratory. The purpose of this track is to assist FDLB in obtaining the samples needed to meet the goals of this cooperative agreement. Funds provided under this track must be utilized to: compensate the sampling organization for collecting samples, purchase supplies for the sampling organization to utilize during sample collection, pay for shipping costs, or to pay for samples purchased at the manufacturer or retail location.
Micro D: Track 1 Project Narrative Application Title: Enhancement of California's Integrated Food Safety and Security System Project title: Maintenance of California's Sample Collection Program Maintenance of California's Sample Collection Program will help the Food and Drug Laboratory Branch obtain the samples necessary to maintain the testing proposed in this cooperative agreement. This will assist FDLB in maintaining the technical competency and capability of the laboratory to perform Food testing for a variety of food products and environmental samples. Increased testing activity through this cooperative agreement would increase analytical capacity for the FDA and advance a nationally integrated food safety system which enhances food safety and allow rapid response to food-related emergencies. These practices support the new and innovative program initiated by the Food Safety Modernization Act (FMSA).
