1. Core utilization and accomplishments - A total of 57 people from 29 laboratories (NHLBI, 23; non-NHLBI, 6) have used for the facility services and instruments. - Support investigators by implementing methods for 1) mass measurement of intact proteins and organic compounds (a total of 2,327 samples from 19 laboratories), 2) separation and quantification of proteins or metabolites by HPLC (a total of 2,498 samples from 15 laboratories), and 3) elemental analysis by atomic absorption spectrometry (a total of 6 samples from 1 laboratories). - Applying a new method for the quantification of free amino acids by LC-MS and development of a new sample preparation method for the short chain fatty acids.
