This award provides support to conduct a proposal writing workshop aimed at young faculty in the EPSCoR states of Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and Arkansas, and with special emphasis on the CAREER proposal. The workshop will be one full day in duration, and it will include a briefing by the National Science Foundation on good proposal writing practices, followed by testimonies from previous awardees and a mock proposal review. The workshop will be hosted by Wichita State University. It is expected that there will be 50 attendees, and a special emphasis will be given also to women, minorities and disabled persons.
The workshop will help get young faculty from EPSCoR states a start in their careers. It will enhance their ability to compete for Federal grant money by writing better proposals.
