9422982 Pinkerton The University of Wisconsin Madison is extending WiscNet at 56 kbps to 17 Wisconsin institutions, comprising seven independent colleges and ten units of the Wisconsin Technical College system. The 17 schools are: Alverno College Mid-State Technical College Bellin College of Nursing Milwaukee Area Technical College Blackhawk Technical College Mount Mary College College of the Menominee Nation Nicolet Area Technical College Fox Valley Technical College Northcentral Technical College Gateway Technical College Northeast Technical College Lakeland College Silver Lake College Lakeshore Technical College Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Marian College of Fond du Lac College Faculty and students will benefit from access to the resources of the Internet, including libraries and supercomputers. In addition, they will be able to communicate and collaborate with colleagues at other institutions in pursuit of research and educational projects. The award provides partial support of the project for two years.
