Vertex detection is a crucial technique for understanding the physics of particle interactions. Since the techniques used can have resolutions of down to several microns there are applications for the detectors in other areas such as medical imaging. Syracuse will host the 16th workshop in a series of such meetings on ''Vertex Detectors" at Lake Placid, NY, in September 2007. The aim of the meeting is to evaluate progress on silicon based vertex detectors with emphasis on existing and future detectors, new materials, software, alignment, electronics, triggering, 3D devices, monolithic structures, new developments, applications to medical and other fields.
