The purpose of this supplement is to provide research and career development training opportunities for Cheyanne Barba, an underrepresented minority graduate student at UAB. The individualized development plan proposed for Ms. Barba includes research mentoring, participating in staff trainings and team meetings, training in statistics, and conducting her own research with the Puerto Rican Elderly: Health Conditions (PREHCO) study. Her research will focus on the association between cognitive function and outcomes of everyday function and mortality in this sample of older Hispanic adults.
