The Ohio Department of Agriculture Division of Food Safety The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) will create a Preventive Controls Program and it will be incorporated into the Manufactured Foods Regulatory Program Standards. This will entail the following: ? Establishing a Preventive Controls training and monitoring program for specialists ? Developing an inspection and compliance program to conduct full scope Preventive Controls inspections ? Establishing data information sharing capabilities with the FDA along with work planning with the FDA ? Enhancing and expanding Ohio?s regulatory foundations ? Building capacity to support a Preventive Controls program A three year plan has been developed in our Aims document which as been attached in our application.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture Division of Food Safety The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) wants to participate in expansion of the Flexible Funding Model to advance the efforts for a nationally integrated Food Safety System. A step in this process will be the implementation of a risk based preventive controls for human food regulatory program. ODA will create a Preventive Controls Program that will be incorporated into our Manufactured Foods Regulatory Program Standards program.
